The Center for Research and Innovation in Technology-Enhanced Learning (ITEL) is a campus hub for designing and investigating the impact of new technologies on learning and education in authentic contexts in K-12, higher education classrooms, and beyond. ITEL researchers investigate core mechanisms of learning in digital environments and create new educational technologies that can be field- tested in local, national, and international settings. The center aims to have a far-reaching impact in schools and various venues where learning is aided by technology.
The Center for Research and Innovation in Technology-Enhanced Learning, approved by the Illinois Board of Higher Education this summer, is officially launching on October 23, though projects are already underway.
A celebration for ITEL and CREA—the Center for Culturally Responsive Evaluation and Assessment—takes place on October 23, 12:30-3 p.m., at the O'Leary Learning Center in the College of Education. Center leaders will explain their missions and engage with those in attendance.
